Lancelot and the glitter covered, carrot shaped go kart

Before he had it, Lancelot had never given much thought to the joys of a glitter covered, carrot shaped Go Kart and then Ginny gave him one. Snow bound by last week's storm he was trapped inside the house with his latest toy. Needless to say he was a total menace, zooming around the studio floor, terrorizing the poor field mice and squirrels who had crept inside to avoid the snow.

Deep gloom here as the Ground Hog saw his shadow this morning which means six more weeks of Winter, at the very least. So here is a painting of bad weather to make us even more grateful when Spring finally arrives. Watercolor and gouache, 11 x 14"

The ultimate journal pages

The Ultimate Journal pages can now be seen at the Morgan Library in the show "Demons and Devotion: The Hours of Catherine of Cleves." This is a profusely and beautifully illustrated book of hours from the mid fifteenth century. Of course a favorite page is the one illustrated by the NY Times on Friday which shows a border of carnivorous fish and twisted eels but there are hundreds of other wonderful details. True inspiration for all. Not to be missed and on until May 2nd. The Morgan Library at 225 Madison Avenue, at 36th street. 212 685 0008. I am not sure yet if there are hedgehogs...
