A Very Sweet Tooth.
A Business Opportunity.
Lancelot was looking for a new business opportunity. With Halloween and the Day of the Dead approaching, Lancelot decided to open a pop up store selling paw made sugar skull candy. At first it seemed to be extraordinarily successful but it wasn't until Agile started complaining about both toothache and indigestion that the real reason for the disappearing inventory became apparent.
The National Museum of Mexican Art and a New Friend.
Earlier this month, on a visit to Chicago, we went to the National Museum of Mexican Art. Lancelot was overwhelmed by the wonderful colors and imagery of the "Dia de Los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead" exhibition and had to be revived with a restorative lunch at a local Mexican restaurant. Afterwards we visited "Artesanias D'Mexico", a Folk Art gallery run by the delightful Ely Coza. 1644 West 18th Street, Chicago, 60608. 312 563 9779. There Lancelot met a charming young mouse whom he later immortalized in this painting.
Chinese Lanterns
Continuing the Halloween theme, we painted Chinese Lanterns, a wonderful gift from a very generous gardener. Thank you so much, Pam.
Haunted Landscape.
Following the class on snow and a new color scheme, it was back to the Fall and a haunted landscape.
Lancelot and Halloween.
Lancelot loved getting ready for Halloween. Knowing how bad candy is for the teeth, Lancelot thoughtfully limited Agile's treat consumption very carefully.
Winter Landscapes
Time to move away from the regular Indigo Blue palette to something a little more unusual. These are painted with Compose Green 1 by Holbein, raw sienna, black ink and white gouache.
