Day 4. The Lollipop Walkway
Day 3, Plums
Day 2
Day 2 of my mini challenge and I did a little better today, completing a small, well very small, oil of a tin of Harissa paste. ( A wonderful red pepper paste all the way from Tunisia - via San Francisco.). It was a glorious bright yellow with a blue blue lighthouse motif so naturally I had to buy it. Oil on canvas, 5 x 5"
Day 1. Orchard.
Summer camp finished last week so now I have a week off to finish lots of small but needful projects. With just a week at my disposal I decided to try to do a painting a day, limiting myself to a maximum of 90 minutes on any one picture. Mmm we shall see how long this lasts, especially as day 1 is a sort of cheat since I am reworking a similar painting I did earlier this year that was not working for me. but at least I stuck to the time limit. The goal is to get more comfortable working with oils. Orchard, oils, 8 x 10"
Same spot, same day
Painting Outside
A perfect day to paint outside. Sadly it was also the last but one day of Summer Camp but what better way to spend it than painting in the shade of the pines at the Garden Education Center. A quick demo of 2 pine trees, watercolor, a journal page. Periwinkle and Van Dyck brown make the most perfect silvery grey for tree trunks .

Hurrah for Summer
Summer seems to have finally arrived. Yeah, my favorite season. Friday, the longest day of the year and we saw our first hummingbird in the garden on Friday evening and our first fireflies. A very good beginning. Walking at the beach we have even seen a couple of brave swimmers. So to celebrate Summer, a journal page of paddlers.
