Trick or Treat
Getting Ready for Halloween
Lancelot, Agile and Wilfred having been looking forward to Halloween for ages and have been planning their costumes for a long time. There has been considerable discussion as to who has the best costume and who is likely to collect the most candy. Agile maintains that Lancelot's costume is tantamount to emotional blackmail. Who could resist Father Christmas when Christmas is a mere 7 plus weeks away. Horrified by the forecast of snow, the Three Wise Creatures decide to Trick or Treat early..... Editor's Note. Lancelot has wisely disabled Agile's Donate Candy Now button on the grounds that too much sugar is not good for Agile's teeth.

Personal Maps
Over the Summer I was lucky enough to take a workshop with the delightful Connie Brown, an amazing mapmaker, at www.redstonestudios.com. Inspired by Connie and by the very different but equally charming site, www.theydrawandtravel.com, I decided it was time to do a personal map making project with my class. So here is the Best of Greenwich, covering Greenwich proper in map 1 and Cos Cob, Riverside and Old Greenwich in map 2. Suggestions for highlights to be added to these maps are always welcome. (Click on the individual maps to make them a little bigger.)

More Owls
Still Waiting, still in line
Agile was not so sorry to see the Humming birds go. Although he would never tell Lancelot so, Agile privately considered the birds to be flighty and irresponsible. Agile DID NOT like waiting in line to mail on all the stuff that the birds inevitably forgot when they suddenly realized it was time to leave... Of course, if he had his own cell phone, he would not have minded quite so much.
Owl leaves
Looking at one of my favorite blogs, The Art Room Plant by Hazel Terry, I was smitten by her acrylic leaves. Of course I had to go out into the garden and create some of my own. You can see the original inspiration at http://theartroomplant.blogspot.com/2011/10/owls.html. Please be sure to check out her wonderful bugs and fish at the same time.

"Family Tree" at the Garden Education Center in Greenwich
I am currently in a show, "Branching Out", at the Garden Education Center of Greenwich. This exhibition, sponsored by the Education Center, the Greenwich Arts Council and the Greenwich Tree Conservancy, celebrates the wonderful collection of Trees at the Garden Center. It will hang until October 29th. Fifty percent of the sale price will be donated to support these three great organizations. This is a painting of the tree that I chose to paint, a Japanese White Pine Tree, with some of the inhabitants of the GEC. Acrylic on Canvas, 12 x 12, framed in a floater frame. $800.

The Entrepreneurs' Breakfast Club
At a recent meeting of the Entrepreneurs' Breakfast Club, Lancelot proposed starting a new Rating Agency. The suggested title would be the "A & B" Rating Agency. At this point, it has not yet been decided whether "A & B" should stand for "Average and Bad' or "Awful and Broke" Discussion is still ongoing...
