Getting Ready

A very dull and Autumnal Wednesday.  A good day to spend at home getting ready for my student show which will open November 14th at the Garden Education Center of Greenwich.  Hanging on November 13th and official artists' opening on Sunday, the 2nd of December, 2 to 4pm.  The show will hang until the end of January.  Thankfully we are survived Sandy, battered, cold but in tact.  Now we can look forward to a small celebration.  Yeah.

You Are What You Read.

Another self portrait for the same project. This time in collage, including a Metro North timetable for hair, part of a map, a Tazo Earl Grey tea bag for the shadows, part of the Financial Times and of course some of my favorite Japanese "running script" paper.   I drew first, painted a little and then reached for he glue stick.....

Self Portrait

The Bruce Museum is sponsoring a community self portrait project.  The public is invited to submit self portraits, the only constraints being that they must be anonymous and they must be 6 x 6".  So last weekend I began.  This was my first effort, in what I describe as the "German Expressionist Nightmare" genre.....
