Lancelot is so smart

Like many of his peers, Lancelot is frequently frustrated by the short battery life of his iPhone. Lancelot also often finds himself rather thirsty during the long hot days of Summer. Suddenly the genius hedgehog has an inspiration - why not design a nano fridge that would clip onto the back of his phone? The coolant would serve to cool the phone and thus prolong its battery life and he would be able to keep a small water bottle chilled and ready to hand. Lancelot knows that nothing betrays one's identity as a tourist like carrying a water bottle. Now no one need ever know. Brilliant. Lancelot immediately contacts the patent office.

Day 2

Day 2 of my mini challenge and I did a little better today, completing a small, well very small, oil of a tin of Harissa paste. ( A wonderful red pepper paste all the way from Tunisia - via San Francisco.). It was a glorious bright yellow with a blue blue lighthouse motif so naturally I had to buy it. Oil on canvas, 5 x 5"

Day 1. Orchard.

Summer camp finished last week so now I have a week off to finish lots of small but needful projects. With just a week at my disposal I decided to try to do a painting a day, limiting myself to a maximum of 90 minutes on any one picture. Mmm we shall see how long this lasts, especially as day 1 is a sort of cheat since I am reworking a similar painting I did earlier this year that was not working for me. but at least I stuck to the time limit. The goal is to get more comfortable working with oils. Orchard, oils, 8 x 10"

Painting Outside

A perfect day to paint outside. Sadly it was also the last but one day of Summer Camp but what better way to spend it than painting in the shade of the pines at the Garden Education Center. A quick demo of 2 pine trees, watercolor, a journal page. Periwinkle and Van Dyck brown make the most perfect silvery grey for tree trunks .

Lancelot helps out

A hoot of the car horn and a slam of the door and they were gone. Pausing only to snatch up his pipe, Lancelot and Agile left for New Hampshire. A snake was somewhere on the loose within a fraternity. Remembering Lancelot's skills as a snake charmer, see January entries on this blog, 2013, the year of the snake, the Frat was now summoning Lancelot to their aid, to help them recapture the 3 ft python.

Dartmouth police urged great caution when approaching the snake.

For more details on this story, please see http://thedartmouth.com/2013/07/19/news/python.

Editor's note.  Lyude, the missing python was found this morning, (7/24) in a dark, warm hole by the Frat's front door.  He is now safely back in his terrarium.  Lancelot and Agile will be back in the office tomorrow, 17/25.
