New Orleans. New map

May 17, 2015 hazel jarvis

New Orleans - amid its watery element. Still have to add the labels but making the map makes me think of all those wonderful walks when I visited there last month.  Somehow the act of map making helps one understand the spirit of a place.

Counting the days till the Hummingbirds appear.  Wilfred crosses off the days while Lancelot follows their progress on the map.  Perhaps another month or so until the first birds appear.  Time to start planning their annual "welcome back" garden party.

Getting Around in the Snow

February 12, 2015 hazel jarvis

With the snow several feet deep here in places, Lancelot has had to take to his skis to get around. For long distances tho he may call an elephant taxi ( more reliable than the local service who have been known to object to prickles in the back seat). You may want to download the new ZOGO app yourself. NB Editor's note- zo is the Japanese for elephant.
